Basheer Buhari is responsible for managing all structured finance businesses in the Asia Pacific region. The structured finance business includes business development, origination and execution of transactions in project finance, acquisition finance, sector based financing, financial engineering and trade & export finance. Basheer joined ING in Singapore and was responsible for the Asian telecoms and infrastructure project finance business until 1998. He then moved to Hong Kong to manage the Structured Finance business under the ING Barings investment platform.

In 2003, Basheer and his group relocated to Singapore when the regional office was established.

Before ING he was with ABN Amro, based in Amsterdam for three years, in the Aerospace & Structured Finance Division. He was involved in origination and execution of various European and Japanese leases and tax driven structures for European and Asian clients in industries ranging from aerospace to computers.

Prior to Amsterdam, Basheer had extensive experience in the Asian debt markets and corporate finance activities. He has over 25 years of international banking experience.

Basheer graduated with Honours from the London School of Economics and obtained his MBA in General Management from Cranfield Institute of Technology.
