Manuel R. Salak III
Managing Director
Head - Wholesale Clients & Corporate Finance (Asia)

 

Mr. Salak was appointed as Head of Commercial Banking Clients (Asia) on 1 September 2008. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing and overseeing the various client coverage teams in the different countries of the region.

In a concurrent capacity, Mr. Salak is also the Head of Corporate Finance (Asia) where he oversees M&A advisory activities and selected equity-related transactions.

Before this, he was Country Head of ING Bank Philippines, a position he assumed since July 2000. As the bank’s head, he oversees the various operations of ING Manila which include corporate & investment banking, financial & equity markets, asset management and private banking.

Mr. Salak has 23 years of experience in the banking industry. He was responsible for overseeing landmark Philippine M&A and IPO transactions. Under her stewardship, the franchise also won numerous awards from The Asset, Euromoney and FinanceAsia for its local activities. In March 2008, Mr. Salak received personal recognition for his leadership with the Asian Institute of Management's award of its highest honour - the Triple A Achievement Award.

Prior to ING, Mr. Salak spent 10 years at the Bank of the Philippine Islands. Mr. Salak obtained an Economics Degree from the Ateneo de Manila University (graduated with honors) and an MBM degree from the Asian Institute of Management.
