ING appoints Mathew Welch as Head of Financial Institutions Asia
ING Commercial Banking (“ING”) today announced the appointment of
Mathew Welch as Managing Director and Head of Financial Institutions
(FI) Asia, effective 1 December 2008. Based in Singapore, Mathew
will report to Manolet Salak locally and Bart Schmeetz based in
Amsterdam functionally. He will also have a reporting line to
Wilfred Nagel for activities pertaining to ING Commercial Banking
Asia’s involvement in TMB, ING Vysya Bank and other affiliates. |

ING to sell Taiwanese life insurance business to
Fubon Financial Holding
ING announced today that it has reached an agreement with Fubon Financial Holding Co. Ltd.
(“Fubon Financial Holding”), a leading diversified Taiwanese financial services company, to sell its
Taiwanese life insurance business for a consideration equivalent to USD 600 million (EUR 447
million). The divestment is in line with ING’s strategy to actively manage its portfolio of businesses,
allocating capital to those businesses that generate the highest return.

announced

ING Group becomes first global player to set up ME Investment Management division to meet local and global investor demands
Global investor interest in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) financial markets is expected to intensify with ING Group becoming the first global financial institution to establish a dedicated investment management business in the region. ING strengthens distribution partnership with Japan Post Group
ING today announced that ING Life Japan (“ING LJ”), its insurance unit in Japan, has reached an agreement to distribute life insurance products through Japan Post Group. Under the terms of the agreement, Japan Post Bank and Japan Post Network will sell ING LJ’s single premium variable annuity (SPVA) products from 29 May 2008. In addition, Japan Post Insurance will start selling ING LJ’s corporate owned life insurance (COLI) products from 1 June 2008.

ING Real Estate acquires three hypermarts from Lotte Shopping in Korea
ING Korea Property Investments (ING KPI), set up in 2005 by ING Real Estate Investment Management Asia, today announced that it has purchased three hypermarket stores located in Jeju, Incheon and Daejeon, South Korea, from Lotte Shopping Co., Ltd., one of the largest retailers in the department store and the hypermart industry in Korea. While ownership belongs to ING KPI's investors, these hypermarts are master-leased by Lotte Mart for over 14 years on a triple-net basis. |

ING brings the best of Rembrandt to Hong Kong
ING announced today that it has sponsored an exhibition of Rembrandt’s etchings, displayed for the first time in Asia. The exhibition, taking place at the Rotunda in the Exchange Square from 9 January to 30 January 2008, will have 70 pieces of valuable and prestigious Rembrandt prints and etchings (see one of the etchings below). The collection, presented exclusively by ING in Hong Kong, links the company to its Dutch origins at a time when the Dutch community celebrates 150 years of history with Hong Kong.
